Grenada has been known to be negatively impacted by high temperatures, changing rainfall patterns and concerns over water availability for agriculture. The island has also experienced vulnerability due to an increase in hurricanes. The Climate-Smart Agriculture (CSA) projects aim to improve the management of coastal and water resources which will, in turn, make the agricultural sector of Grenada more sustainable.

Sustainable climate-smart agriculture will help to contribute to the reduction of poverty in rural communities. Climate-smart Programmes like (Climate-smart Agriculture and Rural Enterprise Programme) SAEP, will promote climate-smart agricultural practices in rural areas in Grenada.

Other projects will offer training to those in food safety management, minimize loss and wastage of produce, and provide transportation for fresh produce to enhance output quality.
