The Plant Protection Unit guarantees that imported food and crops fulfill the World Trade Organizations’ (WTO) sanitary and phytosanitary requirements, which includes surveillance of economically important diseases and pests. The Sanitary and Phytosanitary Agreement protocols also comprise a prepared country pest list and conducting pest risk analysis.
